Holiday Concert Reminders

Reminders for Dec. 12 Holiday Band Concert:

  • What to wear: Black bottoms (pants or girls may wear a skirt of appropriate length), white shirt (short or long sleeved….. guys wear a tie – any color or kind), black shoes and socks. Santa or holiday hats are optional if you would like to wear them.
  • Take care of bathroom issues before the program starts. Do not have your phones with you….. you don’t need them and they will only distract you. If you are caught on your phone during the concert, then it will be taken.
  • Make sure to have all music for grade level and jazz/honor band performances….. do not depend on a neighbor!!
  • Make sure to have your instrument in working order and cleaned with extra reeds with you (woodwinds)
  • You are to be there at 6:00 pm at Bartlett High School auditorium.   Have your parents bring cans with them to donate for the food drive since we don’t have an admission to this concert. Leave your cases at home or in your car.
  • 6th grade reports to the stage for warm up and 7th and 8th grade will report upstairs to the balcony unless someone tells you differently (working on trying to get a room to warm you up in).   7th grade sit on left side and 8th grade sit on right side. I will plan to come up there to warm you up.   I will have parents in charge of you to monitor your behavior and escort you to the back stage area when it is your turn to play. You are expected to have exceptional behavior during the concert and be a good audience member. This means no talking, no phones, no getting in and out of your seat. Do not sit next to someone that could get you in trouble. If your name is taken and given to me, there will be consequences with concert grade deduction and next week’s Thursday movie time taken away. Act respectfully.
  • Also you are expected to stay for the concert’s entirety to respect all band members. If there is an emergency, then please put it in writing or email Mrs. Sanders.

I’m looking forward to a wonderful concert next week. You’ve worked hard. Practice your music over the weekend and be prepared to show off what you can do.

Mrs. S.
