About Mr. Miles

Mr. Mencil Miles is a native of Starkville, Mississippi, home of the Mississippi State University Bulldogs.  He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from MSU in 2004 and completed The Alternated Route of Teaching Program in Special Education at MSU in 2012.

Over the past 11 years in education, he has served as a new teacher mentor, afterschool tutor, curriculum improvement team member, and student government adviser. He is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated, where he was named Educator of The Year for the state of Mississippi in 2022. He was also nominated for Memphis-Shelby County Schools’ 2022-2223 Teacher of the Year (District-Wide). In his free time Mencil enjoys traveling, shopping, and spending quality time with his niece and nephew Malorie and KJ. 

He is excited to join Bartlett City Schools and the Appling Middle School family.  He looks forward to a new school year filled with new students, new teachers, and new opportunities.
