Welcome to the webpage of Ms. Julie Kelly! Born and raised in Memphis, I enjoy camping, boating, cycling, and anything outdoors. I have previously taught at Woodstock Elementary and Collierville Elementary but have been a special education teacher at Appling Middle School since the day it opened. I feel very blessed to call AMS “home” and am excited about the 2017-2018 school year!
This year I serve as 8th grade DEC case manager as well as Intervention Specialist in the areas of Language Arts and math. My schedule is as follows:
Period 5: Learning Lab
Period 6: Planning/Meetings
Week of March 12:
In language arts, we are continuing our review of formal writing with our focus on essays, analyzing character, drawing inferences. We are also working on our novel study (Boy In Striped Pajamas-Mrs Becker and And Then There Was One-Mr. Wood). Library days are Wednesday(Mr. Wood) and ThursdayMrs. Becker). Mrs. Becker's Q3 book reports were due Feb 22. In math, we are determining the reflections, rotations, and translations. All students need to have a calculator in order to check over their solutions and determine that they have successfully calculated their equations.
