8th Grade Registration Information

Below, you will find various links and documents that will assist you in helping your child complete their 9th grade course selections and their 4 year plans.

Additionally, I will be available during parent/teacher conferences on February 11th by appointment.  
 
 
Important Dates
 
  • February 2nd, 3rd, and 4th - Mrs. Pintchuck will discuss 9th grade course requirements, graduation requirements, and honors course requirements. Students will submit 9th grade course selections in Powerschool during Social Studies Guidance.
  • February 12th - Honor Contracts are due to Mrs. Pintchuck (see Honor Contracts section below for more information on Honors Contracts).
  • February 16th, 17th, and 18th - Students will complete 4 Year Plans on a PDF during Social Studies Guidance with Mrs. Pintchuck.
  • February 26th - 4 Year Plans must be submitted via the 4 Year Plan Submission Link (see links in the section below). Remember to save the file as Last Name, First Name, 4 Year Plan.
  • March 22nd through April 1st - Parents can view their child's selected courses on PowerSchool and request for changes to their child's course selection via the Course change Request Form (see below for link to form). Parents and students must sign the completed form and email to Mrs. Pintchuck at apintchuck@bartlettschools.org no later than April 1st.

Honors Contract Information
 
Students and their parents must complete the honors contract below if they would like to be enrolled in an honors course during their 9th grade year. 
 
  • Students must have a Y1 average of 90 or above for the corresponding Honors class that they would like.
  • Honors contract must list requested honors class, current Y1 average for corresponding honors class, parent signature, and student signature. 
  • Honors contracts are due to Mrs. Pintchuck no later than March 1, 2021
  • Please email the competed honors contracts to apintchuck@bartlettschools.org
  • The honors contract should be saved as Last Name, First Name, Honors Contract
  • Students that have selected an honors course, but have not submitted their honors contracts will be removed from the honors class on March 2, 2021. 
 
Honors Academy Information
 
Honors Academy Applications should be posted online on the BCS Webpage beginning February 8th and will be due on March 22nd.  Applications will be submitted online.  Please contact Katie McCain at kmccain@bartlettschools.org or visit the Honors Academy website https://www.bartlettschools.org/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=415786&type=d&pREC_ID=908178

Please note that students may take honors classes even if they are not in the Honors Academy. 
Virtual 8th Grade Students
 

Virtual students must attend 2 zoom meetings for high school registration.  One during the week of February 2nd, the other during the week of February 15th. The zoom links are posted on my curve page.
