Appling Middle School News

Welcome Back!

See you on Monday, 13 August 2018.

  1. If your child did not attend BReady Day, their registration process is not complete.  If they need to pay fines or turn in shot records, they will need to report to the AMS library Monday morning.  We will not attend to any students or parents in the office tomorrow morning.  Our main priority will be getting all students to their classes and registered.  Again, we ask for your patience and flexibility as we begin this new school year.
  2. All students who picked up their schedules on BReady Day will need to report directly to their homeroom class.  Their teachers will be waiting for them.
  3. Please be sure your student knows how they are getting home tomorrow.  The homeroom teachers will be collecting this information from each student so that we can make sure everyone gets home.  If you had to request bus information on Tuesday and were told a stop had to be created for you, you will need to make arrangements for your child to get home as a car rider. As soon as we get information from transportation we will share that with the students.
  4. Be sure that your student has lunch or lunch money for Monday.  It will be helpful if the students know their lunch pin/id number. This will expedite the serving process as student go through the lunch line.
  5. I know that many of you have heard that we had a 7th grade teacher to resign last week.  Rest assured that our HR department is working diligently to find a replacement.  A  couple of former Appling Math teachers are willing to step in and help out for the next several weeks.  This will insure that instruction is uninterrupted and high quality during this time.

As we work to get our students acclimated and adjusted to this new year, we will not be allowing lunch visitors until the week of September 10.  Please take some time this week to review with your students our Appling Parent/Student Handbook, which is online now. The students will also receive a copy this week.  Review BCS' revised dress code also.  This is also on our Appling webpage and the district page.
