Principal's Message

From the Desk of Dr. Mack

Welcome Appling Family to another school year. This year promises to be better than last year. We are so excited to welcome each of our family members back into the building. We say a special welcome to our newest 6th grade Wildcats. I hope each of you is ready for this exciting and ever-changing middle school journey. Whether you are with us for your first year or your final year of middle school, this year promises to be special. It is my honor to serve as principal here at Appling Middle School. Our Appling staff thanks you for entrusting your students to us for this school year.

We have had many changes to our Appling family staff via retirements/resignations. We have been able to add some wonderful family additions to our teaching staff. Know that we are dedicated and ready to assist our students and families however we can. We continue to strive for “E3 = Excellence – Everybody – Every Day!” Our goal remains the same - to prepare our students for the future by providing them with an academic foundation that sets them up for continued success no matter what their endeavor. We are proud of our strong academic traditions and will continue to do our best to maintain an academically robust program. This year former Appling students accounted for half of the top 10 graduates at Bartlett High School and the class Salutatorian was an Appling alum!!

The middle school years are the most challenging and rewarding for students and parents alike. We will push our students academically so that they can reach their potential and demonstrate E3. No longer will “just enough” be good enough. Our wish for each student while they are here at Appling is for them to find their niche, excel academically and flourish socially. I think you will find here at Appling that we welcome every student, be they actors, artists, athletes, musicians, or vocalist. We hope each of our students will participate in the various activities offered over the course of their middle school years while here at Appling.

Our Appling parents are the foundation of student success. We cannot grow successful students without your help. We encourage you to become involved with and support the work of our school and its activities and partner with us to help our students. The school PTO would love to have you! We want our Wildcat Family to be active supporters of all things Appling during your time here. We welcome your support even in our decision making. Our way won’t always be your way, but we will always do what is best for our family.
