AMS Counseling Vision Statement

The vision of the Appling Middle School Counseling Program is that all students will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to attain academic success.  We envision that our students will develop strong character in order to become responsible, respectful, and productive community members.  Appling Middle School students will be highly prepared for high school, college, and their careers of choice.  

AMS Counseling Mission Statement

The Appling Middle School Counseling Department’s mission is to provide a high quality, comprehensive school counseling program for our middle school students. Our key responsibility is to take a proactive approach to academic and person/social development as we promote college and career readiness.  We support all students though classroom guidance lessons, small group meetings, and individual counseling centered on meeting the specific needs of all stakeholders. As AMS Counselors, our goal is to prepare all students to become productive and responsible citizens within the community.

AMS Counseling Belief's

1. All students have unique potential and the ability to achieve.
2. Every student is valuable and is treated with dignity and respect.
3. All students have the right to learn in an environment that is physically and emotionally safe in order for optimal learning.
4. All students have the right to receive school counseling services, provided by a licensed school counselor.
