Thanks!

All-West- Campus Map

Here is a map of the Northside High School campus in Jackson, TN.  The jazz and percussion auditions are on the south campus and the wind auditions are on the north campus.  Directions about parking are in the memo I posted earlier.
Make sure you allow plenty of time to get there, park, and find where to go since there will probably be 1,000+ people there throughout the day.  Please read over the original letter I posted and the memo and please show patience through the process. Remember to find someone to carpool with if you need to. Let me know if you have any questions.

Smart Music/Sightreading Factory Assignments due 12/6

Students were assigned Smart Music and Sight-reading Factory assignments before Thanksgiving break and they are due by midnight Friday night 12/6.  Each grade level band will have two sight-reading factory assignments to complete (6th grade level one, 7th grade level two, and 8th grade level three). You will have five attempts on each one but it will regenerate new material each time you try again.  Each one is worth 20 points (40 total) so please try your  best. Please use this program as a tool to help you, even when they aren't "assignments".
For Smart Music, here are your assignments (total 60 points):
6th grade:  #48, 57, and Habits book Rhythm exercise 3b
7th grade: C, G, D, A scales and EE book two #37
8th grade: C, G, D, A scales and EE book three #62
Again, please listen back to yourself and submit your best.  Slow down tempos if you need to and use the metronome clicks if you need to.

Update for Thursday 11/21 - 7th and 8th graders

7th and 8th grade band students:
You will need to wear your band shirt on Thursday.  We will not be playing at the pep rally as originally planned.  They want to keep the pep rally very short and only introduce the homecoming court.... so no pep band, cheerleaders, dance team, etc...... However, we ARE STILL PLAYING AT THE HOMECOMING BASKETBALL GAME.  7th and 8th graders will be coming to the band room after they call after school activities and we will hang out and have pizza provided by the band boosters.  Around 3:05 we will go to the gym and set up for the game.  They will be doing the homecoming court recognition before the game starts at 3:30.  We will be playing before and after the game, during halftime, and timeouts.  Students will be dismissed at 5:00 from the band room for pick up.  If students have permission from parents, they may stay for the boys game, but we are not performing at the boys game.  That game will probably be over around 6:15.
This is a required event for all 7th and 8th grade band students unless they have a valid written excuse.  If you need to pick up your child before 5 pm, please come in to get them.
Make sure instruments are taken home over the holiday break!
Let me know if you have any questions.
