7th Grade String Orchestra

Course Description

Second year students are welcome; beginners are also welcome!!  In this class, we begin with YOUR level of playing and go from there!
Beginning students will: learn correct posture, resting and playing position;  left hand technique (fingering); right hand technique (bow hold); how to care for an instrument; perform beginning level music; learn D, G and other major scales.
Second year students will review/reinforce 1st year concepts; learn G,D,C,A,F,Bb and Eb major scales;
perform intermediate level music; build upon knowledge of sight-reading, bowing and shifting,
and perform at several concerts through out the school year.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to the 21 students who have been invited to join the Appling Honors Orchestra!  These students were selected for their ability, attitude and willingness to accept new challenges.  They will meet every Wednesday after school.
 
**More students will probably be added to this group; we have an outstanding group of 7th grade beginning students who will soon be able to play with us!
