Welcome to my webpage! I am very excited to have your child in my Science class this 2023-24 school year.   We are

continuing to make history with our tenth year of the Bartlett Municipal School System.  This is my fifteenth year teaching and my tenth year

 to be a part of the Appling Middle family!  I will be teaching two standard science classes, and two exceptional science classes this year.

1) Study your notes with holes that you did in class – for ALL sections

 

2) Study your Planet Project information

   Some specifics to note           

-    know Jupiter’s moons

  • know which planet rotates differently than the others
  • know the largest moon in the solar system
  • know the planet that averages 150 million km from the Sun
  • where the largest known volcano in the solar system is found
  • the parts of a comet
  • who came up with the Sun-Centered model?
  • Where are most asteroids located?
  • Why did the asteroid belt not form a planet?

 

3) Study the vocabulary sheets that I gave out in class Monday 11-30-15

 

4) Know what Kepler discovered about the orbits of the planets.

 

5) Know why Venus is hotter than Mercury even though it is closer to the Sun.

 

6) Study the videos and interactives that are found on my website.
