About Me
Hello! My name is Amy Venckus, and I am the Librarian at Appling. I am beginning my eleventh year at Appling and my 13th year as a librarian. I love getting to know your children and helping them become lifelong readers and inquisitive, independent learners. I am so fortunate to be able to combine my love of books and reading, technology, and teaching, all in one place.
I am a native of Kansas City, KS, but I have lived all over the midwest, including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Ohio. We moved to Bartlett 22 years ago and finally put down roots.
My husband Derek and I have two children who both attended Appling Middle. We adopted Lucy, a shelter dog, to join the family. I love books (of course) and movies, and I enjoy cross-stich and trying to garden.
